Planning & Installation

Includes all planning and regulation activities that are necessary for installation of a database. The activities for the new databases or the databases that will be migrated can be summarized as follows.

• Analysis of the server and the hard disk that the database will be running on,
• Physical analysis of the data of the database. Identification of the data model and size,
• Planning physical location and partition depending on the criteria analyzed,
• Determination of appropriate parameters,
• Planning installation and data migration,
• Overall test of the system after installation and data migration.

Healthcheck

Is composed of the checks planned for database installations and live databases. Healthcheck is applied on databases after the installation and databases exist for some time. The activities of this service are as follows.

• Examination of the environment that the database is running on,
• Analysis of the physical location of data,
• Identifying the bottlenecks of the system
• Examination of the parameters of both the system and the database,
• Planning the necessary actions for maintenance and correction activities.

Analyzing performance and improvement plan

This service investigates the tunings that might be done and the possibility of over coming performance problems by analyzing the performance problems on the live database. Bottlenecks are discovered by the analysis performed on the database and set of actions is prepared to improve the performance.

Backup and Recovery Strategies

In order to recover from any malfunction or data loss in the live databases in the shortest possible time interval, backup & recovery strategies are defined and applied when necessary. In this service, most appropriate solution is defined and action plan is prepared by analyzing principles, margins and strategies of the database owner.
